Evening Honey's
As our competition is up and running with a chance to win our luxury signature collection (https://www.facebook.com/honeyscents.waxmelt/), we decided now was the perfect time to discuss our melts, what makes them and how these may differ to your usual wax melts.
Our wax melts are made from 100% natural soy wax. Soy wax is biodegradable as this type of wax comes from natural vegetables while other wax such as paraffin is a refined gasoline by-product. Also, you find that soy wax will clean much easier with hot soapy water unlike other waxes, this can cause difficulty cleaning your burners or any accidental spillages! (please keep your eyes peeled for my next blog on how to clean your wax melts from your burner quickly and environmentally friendly!)
We have also found that soy wax holds and throws all your favourite fragrances much better than other waxes that are commonly used due to being cheaper than soy wax, soy wax also burns much longer compared to paraffin wax meaning, you can enjoy our scents for even longer!
Parrafin wax melts/ candles produce soot unlike soy wax. Soot is the solid particle that results from incomplete combustion of carbon containing fuels, primarily petroleum-based fuels. This is called Petro-carbon soot which is not found in soy wax. Soy wax melts produce zero Petro-soot than traditional candles/ melts made from paraffin. Lower soot levels help maintain pure air quality and reduce home maintenance problems associated with soot deposits.
Soy wax gives customers the ability to burn clean burning candles from sustainable sources.
There are several cancer-causing agents that can be as bad as smoking within confined spaces found in paraffin candles. Virtually all of them have been considered "toxic air agents" by various environmental agencies. Since soot particles are very small, they can potentially penetrate the deepest area of the lung. Researchers caution that the very young, the elderly and those with respiratory diseases like asthma should avoid exposure to said soot.
Please look after yourselves and your health guys!
